Back In Business…sorta
By admin | April 15, 2007
Take my word for it: Never ever move your wordpress installation to a new host if it’s not really neccesary and save yourself a lot of headache. You would probably get away with it if you have an unmodified theme and not too many posts.
It seems I finally managed to get things running again, although I am sad to report that some of your recent comments and linkbacks are MIA. Sorry about that.
There are probably still some bugs here and there and I would much appreciate it if you would point these out to me.

Noooo! I think I must have found you during your migration - all my comments have gone, at least a dozen!! Ah well. Like your content anyway.

So where did you move to and why?
I adore WordPress and wish I could stay with them as my host but the need to monetize meant I had to “shop around” I lost at Go Daddy (but recovered), lost at AN Hosting (and am still out of pocket) and finally landed at Blue Host.
It’s waay better to start from scratch at the host you plan to keep. I learned too that transferring means selective “transferred” by simply copying and pasting everything in the sidebar and pages into posts that acted as luggage.
The unpacking and sorting took some time but in the end I think I probably ended up with a better blog. In fact one blog became two blogs with better defined, narrower foci.
Allthe best to you and your blog at your new host/server.
Nia.

The blog just moved internally from a resellers account to a VPS at Micfo.com because my traffic was getting so high that the server I had crashed several times. Although not everything went smoothly with the transfer, the staff is more than willing and able to assist with any problem that manifests itself.
I contacted them about so many things, I don’t know if I would have been so patient with myself
Also had a look at bluehost too but read a lot of bad reviews and can’t imagine that for $7 a month I’d get a great hosting package.
Thanks for your comment and come back anytime
