Digg, Delicious, Netscape and Technorati Hacked?
By admin | March 31, 2007
Heres an interesting piece to read. This guy claims he has created a worm that can do a lot of bad things with your information which he stole from the mentioned 4 sites.
What can be done using such Combined XSS & CSRF Attacks against Web 2.0 platforms? Just to name a few:
- Ranking Manipulation
- Email harvesting to sell to spammers
- Other personal details gathering
A message on his site to the big 4:
Dear Digg / Delicious / Technorati / Netscape Staff!I Love you. You provide great Social Community platforms which are really entertaining and helpful for us bloggers (Technorati! *hug*).
These few security issues I talked about are not that bad, and Im sure youll fix them ASAP after you were notified. Probably you are going spend more time in QA, but thats nothing I need to tell you.
Best Regards,- benjamin beNi flesch (mybeNi websecurity)
Is it April 1st yet?
-update- He seems to have gotten into my friendslist on Digg while I didn’t invite him. Perhaps it’s not a joke.
-update 2- The celebrity seems to be posting right here on our blog!
