(gb) 2 Tips To Fight Blogger’s Block
By Mark | May 18, 2007
I’m browsing all the time, looking for things to write about. But if you’re like me and don’t write them down as you find them, then you’ve wasted precious time — time that you could be spending writing. And when blogger’s block sets in, you’re kicking yourself for not remembering where that “great find” was.
So I want to share with you two tools that help me spend my time online more wisely.
Whenever I find something that interests me, and I use Google Notebook to help me keep track of them. This little ditty sits in the lower righthand corner of my Firefox browser. I just open up it’s little window and “clip” the page or the contents I’m interested in. (It’s also how I store my Drum Corps candidates.) Now I have it stored just one click away. A couple more clicks, and I’m in my account where I can do things on a larger screen.
Diigo (pronounced “dee-go”) is another tool that helps me stay organized. It’s a social bookmarking site with abilities far beyond mortal bookmarkers (okay, maybe others have the same powers, but work with me here).
Even though it’s similar to Google Notebook, it’s SO much more. While viewing any web page I can just highlight an image or text and also have it stored in my account. But I can also leave notes on that page for later viewing. I can set these notes for public viewing (for users with the Diigo toolbar installed) or for my eyes only.
Adding a special tag to your discoveries (e.g., “articles”, “posts”, “to-write-about”…whatever) can make it easy for you to find them again.
Okay, so now that you have a way to easily store your Web discoveries, you have no more excuses.

Generally I read my feeds, mail and then whatever idea I get goes on the blog.
My process wrting is done in my head. Lately I have nejoyed blogging from Flickr.
Today I wanted to write about the restored edition of “the Good, the Bad and the Ugly.” There was a TIME-Warner cable outtage. I don’t know how many times I saw this movie.
Have a nice day!

Hi Tina, that’s my primary method of gathering ideas, too. It’s just that I try to cram too much into my head so I have to write it down somewhere.
And good movie. I finally saw it recently.

I stumbled across you through my recent-readers list through Mybloglog. You have a great blog and writing style and I was unaware of Google Notebook. It was exactly the sort of thing I was looking for. Cheers

You know what I dislike? Gathering all these ideas in your head and forgetting the info when you have the chance to write it down.
Ok, I didn’t forget everything while I was at the gym yesterday but it didn’t flow the same when I arrived home. Perhaps I need to start carrying a notebook with me, eh?
Great Blog! I was googled “Sponsored Reviews + opinions” and yours was one of the first sites that popped up.

Thanks for the message. Typepad.com has been my home since August. Quite a few vandals assaulted my two blogs at BlogSpot.
So I fled. I assume you have one blog and own domain. That is what it must be. I guess.
I do like your blog.
I’ll be back ;P))

Hi Opal, could you be talking about this link?

It’s the only one that I found that may have a connection to what you’re referring to.

No not that one it was this one

I joined Sponsored Reviews a few weeks ago which is why I have been searching for info about them. I like them.
I do like the Google notebook I’ll have to pass that on to friends who would benefit.

Oh yes, it’s the same one referenced on SEO Refugee. That must have been the one you clicked on to get here. Cool!
Hey Bob, kudos!
