I’m Sorry…There I Said It. Can I Come Play Again Now?

By admin | May 2, 2007

As some of you might know, I have tried to get this blog unbanned from both Digg and Reddit by emailing the people behind it. Never once did I get a reply from either of them and started to wonder if anyone was actually reading the email. With the whole Digg story hype at the moment, I figured I tried to see Digg and Reddit pay attention.
Another domain I have, sheetr.com has a redirect in it’s root folder which will go to the previous Digg story on this blog so people can actually Digg it.
It took two diggs before it got found out on Digg.com and about 10 minutes on Reddit.com. Both submissions are either buried or hidden now.

So I ask you, people that work at digg and reddit. If you have time to sift through a million submissions on your sites, surely you can take a minute to reply to an email from a user? You might have lost the mail so I will post it here for you to read. (You cant read this if your not with any of those two!)

To the Digg-staff:(feedback@digg.com)

Hello people,

I would like to start off with an apology for not reading the FAQ and there for completely missing point 7. (See? I have read them now).

About six weeks ago I started my blog (bobmeetsworld.com) and happened to discover Digg.com around the same time. This seemed the perfect tool to get my blog noticed and yes, I have “abused” the tool. This all however was not for money making purposes but the sheer enthusiasm of a new blog owner getting traffic.

Hereby I would like you to accept my sincere apologies and ask you to consider taking mydomain from the banned list. I will promise to never-ever submit any of my own stories again but leave this in the capable hands of my readers if they see fit.

Thanks for your time and a great service,

links from Technorati making money. While he only occasionally posts about making money specifically, it’s the posts that Bob writes in between that provide the most value in my mind. He’s not afraid to try new tricks to promote his site and while that has seen him get banned by Digg and Reddit, he’s provided a lot of fresh ideas to other bloggers on how to make money.
