Prominent Blogger Arrested

The Long Beach Press Telegram reports that Long Beach Blogger Patric Ian Henn is a fugitive from Florida. He has a blog www.boysbuzz.net that talks about Long Beach Politics, the gay community, and events going on in Los Angeles. The Florida warrant is for allegedly absconding probation and not paying his restitution owed in a criminal case.
The blogger pleaded guilty in 2005 for fraudulently claiming that his domestic partner had died in the 9-11 attack terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City. He received $68,000 from the American Red Cross. It was later determined that the boyfriend never existed.
He was sentenced by a judge to 2 1/2 years in prison and 12 1/2 years of probation.
Henn claims that his weekly e-mail magazine, Boy’s Buzz, has more than 3,200 e-mail subscribers. The Bloggers rise to fame eventually gave him access to press credentials that allowed him to interview Hollywood celebrities.
He is now facing extradition to Florida.
