The Day After

By admin | May 24, 2007

After the initial shock of getting banned from Google Adsense, I started looking for similar stories and found quite a few bloggers who experienced the same.
Reading the comments there I took up some advise and created an account with Adbrite of which I heard a lot of good stories. The ads aren’t showing yet but probably start popping up in the next few days. Ah well…It’s only money.

There was something else I wanted to talk about. Don’t you guys think it might be time for a change in theme? Nothing wrong with this one but I am starting to get a little bored with it. Any suggestions are most welcome. Since I have been messing around with Cory’s original CSS, some things just don’t look like I’d like them to look. One of the themes I love is copyblogger’s, very smooth and clean. Might need a bit of a professional look if I have to get Google to take me serious!

Some of you probably know I started a new blog a few days back; BobmeetsMac.com, a blog which will be dedicated to anything Apple related. Susan of Life is Risky will have as much a say in the new site as I have. Another idea I got yesterday can be seen on WrongBob.com. Please read the about page before you start asking questions! :)

Don`t want to miss a thing? Just subscribe to the full RSS feed :)!

aah, a theme change would be very nice. i would offer you my theme, but i dont think it would work well with your blog. dailyblogtips theme is very nice why not try theres out? actually i think copybloggers theme would be very nice if you messed with the css to turn it blue. however i dont think a red theme would look very good.
    good luck finding a theme.

Wow, sucks to hear about that. But Google/Adsense will ban people when they think there has been some fraud going on with the clicking. Ie, the CTR rate is too high, too many clicks from the same IP addresses, too many clicks from the same IP addresses over a long period, automated clicking/searching+clicking, etc. This can happen with overly loyal traffic/fanbase or if someone is trying to get you banned by sabotaging your adsense.

The point is, like any other system out there, you can contact Google/Adsense to: 1) Find out the exact reason why you were banned. 2) Submit a clarification and request to reactivation of your account, so you can get access to the monies you have earned.

On a side note, been through this once before myself. It was shortly after I added Google Site Search+Ads on my site. The key, in my case, was opening up a dialogue with them early on and getting the facts straight on both sides of the fence.

Seriously though, losing Google Adsense isn’t a big deal. At least, not the way I see it. There are plenty of advertisers and affiliate programs out there that represent monies to be earned.

@Wing: I have submited a protest to google and they are currently reviewing my case. I have offered them ALL of my webservers logs so they can check for whatever they want.
It not about losing Adsense, it’s about them telling me I did something bad and punishing me for something I did not do.
