Manchester United have reportedly expressed interest in signing Getafe left-back Marc Cucurella as a potential replacement for Luke Shaw. The Red Devils are said to be monitoring the 23-year-old Spanish defender, who has impressed with his performances in La Liga.
Cucurella, who is currently on loan from Barcelona, has caught the attention of several top clubs with his consistent displays for Getafe. Manchester United are believed to be considering a move for the talented full-back, who could provide competition and cover for Shaw.
Luke Shaw has been a key figure for Manchester United this season, but the club is said to be looking for a long-term solution in the left-back position. Cucurella’s versatility to play in multiple positions across the left flank makes him an attractive option for the Red Devils.
However, Manchester United are not the only club interested in Cucurella. Ajax manager Erik ten Hag is also reportedly keen on bringing the Spaniard to the Dutch club. The 51-year-old coach is said to be a big admirer of Cucurella’s abilities and believes he would be a valuable addition to his squad.
With the January transfer window deadline approaching, Manchester United and Ajax will have to act quickly if they want to secure Cucurella’s services. It remains to be seen whether Barcelona would be willing to sell the promising defender or if Getafe would be open to extending his loan spell.
Marc Cucurella’s performances have not gone unnoticed, and it seems that the young left-back has caught the eye of top clubs across Europe. Manchester United and Ajax are both reportedly interested in signing the talented Spaniard, who has shown great potential in La Liga.
